The Objective

Helix Design was using WatchGuard’s Firebox III appliance to secure their network, which had fallen out of date and failed to provide protection from many current threats.

The Solution

After conducting extensive research and viewing Astaro’s user interface Helix Design decided to deploy an Astaro Security Gateway 120 on the network.

The Result

The Astaro Security Gateway’s spam filtering capabilities has solved all of Helix Design’s spam issues.

The Challenge
Helix Design, a product development consultancy company, was using WatchGuard’s Firebox III appliance to secure their network. While there weren’t any significant problems with the WatchGuard product, the appliance had fallen out of date and failed to provide protection from many current threats. To ensure they had the most up-to-date protection AK Stratton, Director of Product Development Helix Design, decided to look for alternative security products.

The Requirements
When looking for a security solution Stratton wanted a product that was compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 that would provide email and download scanning capabilities. He also wanted a product that would be easy to install, configure and administer.

The Solution
Stratton evaluated products from SonicWall, WatchGuard and Astaro. Helix Design’s IT support group RMON networks highly recommended the Astaro Security Gateway. After conducting extensive research and viewing Astaro’s user interface Stratton decided to deploy an Astaro Security Gateway 120 on the network. Stratton liked that Astaro offered a free home use license so he was also able to use the product at home for no cost.

Success with Astaro
The Astaro Security Gateway’s spam filtering capabilities has solved all of Helix Design’s spam issues. “Our inboxes are no longer clogged with unwanted spam messages,” said Stratton.
